Ellen & Portia Purchase $10m Horse Ranch
 Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, have bought a $10 million horse ranch in Westlake Village, California.
de Rossi earlier spoke of the couple’s dream to turn to the simple life. She said: “It’s our dream that we’ll end up in a sweet country town on a farm. I love horses and riding and love animals, and Ellen loves animals. It would be lovely for us. It’s what we’re going to do when we’re not working any more.”
Not that DeGeneres has shown any signs of slowing down her highly successful talk show career, however. In addition, she also has a passion for real estate. Berg Properties says she “has bought and sold more southern California properties in the last 10 years than virtually any other Hollywood celebrity”.
The 10.5ha ranch was formerly used to quarantine foreign horses during the 2000 LA Olympics. It has a single-storey Spanish hacienda-style residence containing 10 rooms that comprise five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
